As of the middle of 2023 Phil has completed 1400 workshops and counting!
Phil Judd, Cartoonist has taught to date 1400 workshops and counting.
His Cartoon Workshops are very popular and cover a wide range of topics, suitable for children aged 5 – 14 yrs of age.
1400 Workshops and Counting – Workshop Length and Attendees
All of these 1400 Workshops and counting have been an average of an hour and a half in length.
Attendees number between 30 to 50 per workshop.
This accumulates to 1000’s of people he has taught, and over 1000 hours of teaching time. Phil has taught many different ages from 5-year old’s to teenagers to adults ranging up to 80 years of age.

Phil has taught in a variety of settings including schools, libraries, TAFE Colleges, Art Galleries, State Museums, OSCH Centres.
Also, welfare groups, professional groups, conferences, charity camps (such as Camp Quality), corporate settings, the National Cartoon Gallery (Coffs Harbour).
As well as The Australian Army – training Graphic Design Artists cartooning basics for use in overseas settings.
He has also been involved in unusual events like the Woodford family event ‘Bushfire’.
This has also led to a busy timetable of online one on one lessons with private and corporate students.
Phil has also facilitated several online sessions live on Zoom to big groups around Australia.
These have mainly been to libraries and the National Cartoon Art Gallery based in Coffs Harbour.
Phil was never trained as a teacher, but with advice from those around him who were trained to teach, he gave it a go!
Due to his own experience as a nurse, communicating in the health field, he was able to build clear techniques of communicating and information and inspiring creative thinking.
1400 Workshops and Counting – Workshop Topics
As a result, he designed a range of successful workshops – up to 20 different topics.
These topics consistently produced great drawing results from those attending and thoroughly captured the audience’s attention.
Through doing so many workshops Phil has also learnt how to problem solve on the job.
He has had to work through many obstacles, and challenging circumstances, common to running live events.
As a consequence he has developed methods to deliver good quality teaching no matter what the environment brings with it.
He has developed a natural instinct for thinking on his feet in the moment and how to engage a wide ranging audience and get them thinking creatively.
He has been able to successfully to engage individuals.
Phil has also been able to groups working together at the same time, to brainstorm and develop ideas and learning concepts.
Phil often presents his Cartoon Workshops at Brisbane City Council Libraries.
